     You have come to the right place.  Did you know teas can fight anxiety and help you relax.   It is one way of calming stress and anxiety in our life.  There are several herbs you can take in a nice cup of tea that could give you the sedative effect you need during times of stress and anxiety. Generally, one teaspoon of dried herbs or three tablespoons of fresh herb to one cup of water is good beneficial amount.  Most herbs should steep for 5 to 10 minutes.  Always remember to check with your physician or pharmacist before taking any herbs to assure they will not affect your condition or will not react with medications you may be taking. Here are a few herbs that are known to calm and relax you.

    Valerian 

    Valerian root is well-known for it sedative.  Properties are often taken to promote good sleep.  It also is good to ease tension, physically and emotionally.  However you do not want to take too much as it can make you lethargic. It is not used for kids 12 years  age and under.

    Catnip

    Yes, it’s not just for cats.  If you noticed cats rarely seem stressed or nervous due to the fact this herb fights symptoms of anxiety.  It can also reduce muscle tension while providing mild stimulation.  When worry makes it difficult to fall asleep, try catnip in a tea before you go to bed.  It could also help if you lack of sleep is giving you headaches.  Even people with severe anxiety may benefit.

    Chamomile

    A lot of people reach for the chamomile tea when they want to relax.  It helps sooth the stomach and decrease mild anxiety.  This is one herbal rem die that can be given to children, though it is not recommended for  prolonged use in anyone.  Both chamomile and catnip could both stimulate an appetite lost due to stress.  Chamomile is not only good for a relaxing cup of tea, individuals also like to add it to a warm bath for increased relaxation.

    PassionFlower

    Passionflower tea might help with severe anxiety, but is recommended for people with a mid to moderate condition.  This herb is known to decrease muscle tension and calm nerves.  It also could be help with headaches and sleep difficulties.

    Hops

    Even though hops is the main ingredient in beer, it also so can be used in tea and may soothe nervousness and stress.  It is known to fight insomnia, indigestion and headaches.   Your stress level has weakened your immune system and you end up with a fever, hops could also help with that too.

    Green Tea
